WWWATER wants to free the conceited slaves that we are from the screens.
Following up on her 2017’s promising EP “La Falaise“, Charlotte Adigery aka WWWATER is back with a buoyant new track. With “Screen”, the Ghent-based singer-songwriter and producer blames the wrong sides of the internet and, in particular, of our addiction to social networks. If you’re chasing likes on Instagram, master the art of scrolling, stalking people on Facebook or if you need to follow influencers on Twitter to form your own opinion, then you’re part of the victims she ironically sings about. Drawing from afrofuturism heirs like Ebony Bones or genre-defying warrior Santigold, she also channels The Neptunes – Clipse era – to craft her wild beats. “Screen” comes with an amazing Tina Herbots-directed video that will remind you of these interminable seconds you have to wait when your connection freezes. Energetic and rebel, “Screen” is going to warm up her upcoming gigs that you need to experience IRL.
