Staff wanted!

Yas! HighClouds is proud to be made up of some of the most passionate music lovers on the Internet, but we know we’re still missing out on some great creative minds. If you think you might be one of them, we want to hear from you.

Working with HighClouds doesn’t mean working for us – we want your ideas and personal flair to become a part of what we’ve already built. And, since we know these ideas are valuable, we always do our best to offer compensation to our team members.

As a disclaimer, it’s important to note that we do keep a strict policy about maintaining a line between music reviewers and artist managers/PR representatives. Honest and independent opinions are the driving force behind what we do at HighClouds and, unfortunately, these kinds of conflicting interests don’t have a place in that equation.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the site looking to give music writing a shot, or a long-time music writer looking for a new opportunity, we’d love to hear from you. All we’re really looking for are individuals with talent and passion, who express it in their own unique way. So, go ahead and shoot over your introductions, ideas, samples, questions, etc. and, if we think you’re a HighClouder at heart, we’ll be in touch! Even if we’re open to spontaneous applications, you can check below the profiles that we are particularly looking for at the moment.

Music Reviewers are at the heart of our mission to spread the best new music that needs to be heard. If you’ve got a pitch for an awesome essay or post idea, great, send it our way! Otherwise, if you’re just generally interested in writing about the best new electronica, experimental, R&B, alternative, and indie pop you can find, let us know why you’re the one for the job, and show us a few examples of writing you’ve done in the past.

So, who do we want at this moment?

-> Music Reviewers (check our ‘reviews‘ section to have an idea of what we’re doing)

– R&B/Soul
– Indie pop
– Electronica/Experimental
– Alternative/Indie

-> HOMOCORE:

We have a whole section that is dedicated to musicians who are engaged with gender, feminism, and LGBTQ topics. We talk about artists such as Mykki Blanco, ANOHNI, Peaches, Lauren Mayberry from CHVRCHES, Christeene, Le1f, and a lot of other emerging talents that are fighting for these causes and who deserve more attention. We are looking for people who would like to help us to add consistency to this section that we are particularly proud of. Contributions can be short news, reviews, or essays.

-> Music Columnists (‘news‘ type of posts)

All genres accepted as long as they can fit our spirit (No mainstream, no low-quality EDM, no Americana/Classic folk). NXC welcome.

-> Belgitunes
Anyone who is interested in writing about the Belgian music scene is welcome.

-> Social Media

It is a huge part of the music scene these days, especially for music blogs like HighClouds. At the moment, we’re looking for a fresh perspective on the visual side of things, namely our Instagram account (and why not our Snapchat/YouTube channels). If you have an interesting concept to propose and want to take on the role of our IG Manager, drop us a line and let’s discuss it. Interested in writing with us and managing our Instagram? Even better!
We can also offer a whole Social Media training course for students that would be interested to gain some experience in a fresh and fun structure.

-> ♀️ DJ/Producer

We recently launched our HIGHCLOUDS MIX series, where we feature female DJ and producers. We decided to make a statement as this scene is particularly dominated by males and women tend to be underrated by so many media.

If you want to reach us and tell us a bit more about what’s in your mind, email us at:
