RDGLDGRN portray the metaphorical idea of fear of the Other with "Opera"

Alternative hip-hop trio RDGLDGRN go political with the release of their creative video “Opera,” a new single that features Method Man and that comes ahead of their new album.

RDGLDGRN‘s video for “Opera” was premiered on Nylon Magazine, where the band detailed a bit more the concept of this surprising new video. With a political and social climate which is particularly tense, the video totally makes sense. As Green, a member of the trio, said:

Human beings in this country are still being treated as if they were aliens[…] There’s a saying that we learned from protesters in Germany against the government and the country’s treatment of the Syrian refugees, it is that ‘NO HUMAN CAN BE ILLEGAL.’ That idea inspired this video,[…] The aggression of the music and accent mirrors the way you view the speaker all the way from the beginning of the track to when it’s finally deconstructed at the end. So, basically, there are LEVELS TO THIS SHIT.
