BRAND NEW SOUND: Two bros looking for good shit!

Oscar and Louis are our new daily diggers and every Monday, visit HighClouds to find out their discoveries of the week! There is something for every – good – taste here!

1. Oklou – “Friendless”

From a small quiet corner of the French countryside, young Marylou Mayniel, aka Oklou, moved to Paris in 2014 to impose his style on the current electronic underground scene. Two EPs in the luggage and a third format, “The Rite of May”, which will be released in March 2018. Hyper melodic tracks that revolve around emotions related to the highlights of her life.

Rough Diamond.

2. Ta-Ra – “Kawasaki Ninja”

After spending several years in Japan, Ta-Ra returned to Paris and released her new album “Sunrayz” in December 2017. On this track she’s talking about love with a yakuza. Bikers in the streets of Yokohama.

Big beats and airy vocals.

3. MONTE BOOKER – “Kompany”

The talented beatmaker from Chicago, Monte Booker, created a real gold mine on his soundcloud. He’s signed to Soulection, the modern RnB label. Tracks come from all kinds in its own style. There’s enough to get his teeth into for the day.

He’s Monte (checkout “mon tea“)

4. Lou Phelps – “What Time Is It”

23-year-old rapper-producer, Louis Philippe Celestin aka Lou Phelps has made his debut in the duo The Celestics alongside his famous bro KAYTRANADA. Big hip-hop tracks with 80’s codes and Lou-P‘s technique for effective rendering. It feels like these two kids have been sweating music forever and want to be some of the best.

It’s Time.

5. Okmalumkoolkat – “Amalobolo”

South Africa, Johannesburg, to discover Smiso Zwane aka Okmalumkoolkat. Rapper from Durban, he’s created his first musical project as a duo called Dirty Paraffin. Currently signed to the australian label Affine Records. We can already find a number of tracks that won over the crowd. Influences speak of itself and the universe is reflected through a result that eventually transports elsewhere.

OKLM.

6. Aldous RH – “Sensuality”

Originally from Manchester, Alexander Aldous Robinson Hewett, better known as Aldous RH, takes us into his psycho-romantic delirium with acidic and colorful tessitures. You can feel the whole range of ingredients that Aldous has in his modern day shaman bag.

“Prince” Aldous

7. WILLS – “Woes vs. Whoas”

A native from the Bronx and a talented producer. Wills imposes his style everywhere. Well-crafted prods to set up his universe and a soul voice that comes with a message. He’s even going to tour with Son Lux throughout March 2018.

Wow.
