Ok! We’re a bit late on this one… But this is so wonderful and immersive that we couldn’t skip it. Manchester-based electronic music producer Andy Stott released his fifth album “Too Many Voices” three days ago. The LP notably features the track “Butterflies”, whose Michael England-directed video is just sublime. This is a beautiful picture of New York City, and of Times Square in particular, highlighted by the artist Rafael Chinx Martin who is dancing in slow motion in the subway, like a moving sculpture.
“Butterflies” bring some groove to the sonic work of the artist:
On this track, Andy Stott also brings us to sonic places we’ve never been before. Indeed, the sound seems to be less industrial or cold and the visuals, which totally convey positive and comforting images, probably strengthen this feeling. While keeping this experimental side that the producer has always had, the track turns to be warm and groovy, in a way; like if Arca and Blood Orange were making music together.
